Cardinham Woods & Woods Cafe
Regardless of the season, it’s always a good idea to immerse yourself in the beautiful Cornish woodland. Luckily for me, I live near Cardinham Woods which is a 650 acre woodland where you can walk the dog, enjoy a hike, take your bike out on the numerous biking trails and have a lovely lunch in Woods Cafe. It’s run by the forestry commission so the area is well kept and a safe place to explore.
Woods Cafe is the cutest old cottage turned cafe, where you can grab a delicious warm lunch, tuck into a cake and a cup of tea or freshen up with some ice cream after a long walk. In the autumn, the cafe hosts a hot chocolate cart where you can get all the flavours and toppings you can desire!
The woods itself is made up of many different routes; from easy gentle strolls to long hikes. There’s an array of notices throughout to show you different routes and to keep you on track. There’s parking in the woods and facilities such as toilets and dog washing.
As summer soon becomes autumn, this is where you’ll find me, taking in all the crisp new colours and enjoying the tranquility.
