Cosy Courtyard Dining; The Stables, Port Eliot Estate
Some places you stumble upon and you just never want to leave. The Stables on the Port Eliot estate very much has that feeling. This super cosy cafe is charmingly laid in an old estate building; complete with exposed brick, stable doors, arched windows and all the character you could want. The Port Eliot estate is a privately owned stately home and land in the South East of Cornwall, in St Germans.
The Stables is a incredibly sweet cafe, offering up breakfast and lunch plus a boutique store full of independent crafts and artisan goods from the local area. With a crackling fire pit, warm lighting, faux fur rugs and friendly dogs strolling around, the vibe is perfect and so welcoming.
The menu is hearty and healthy, with beautiful flavours, local ingredients and rustic finish. There’s the perfect dusting of flair whilst staying brilliantly humble. The coffee is fantastic and there’s an array of freshly baked cakes to tuck into.
The Stables is dog friendly, family friendly and a great spot to enjoy a bite to eat pre or post walk around the area. You can enter Port Eliot estate or take a stroll along St Germans waterfront and find the viaduct.
