Cowslip Cafe, Farm & Patchwork Workshop
A ‘big friendly family, eager to please and welcome’ is how Cowslip describe themselves, and it couldn’t be more spot on. Tucked away on a beautiful farm, you’ll drive down the entryway and soon be immersed in everything this wonderful place has to offer. From a cosy and quaint cafe, an organic garden and antique emporium, to the specialist patchwork workshops, shop and fabrics.
You’ll find Cowslip just outside of Launceston, in St Stephens. Once in the area, it’s well signposted from the road to direct you down the lane and into the car park. We popped in to enjoy some lunch and have a wander around.
The adorable cafe offers warm inside seating, overlooking the garden, for the chillier times. For warm summers days, you can sit outside within the garden or at the end of the path, the site opens up to offer seating in the field, where you have a brilliant valley view, including Launceston castle in the distance.
On the menu, you’ll find soup of the day, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, cream teas and all the usual listings. They have a selection of stunning freshly baked cakes and daily specials, supplied from their organic garden.
Before or after your breakfast or lunch, you must take a wander around the site. You’ll find little barns dotted around, all filled with amazing treasures. The first one we stumbled upon, housed quilts, fabrics and beautiful pottery.
Another barn full of treasure is the Church View Vintage store. Based within Cowslip is this emporium of vintage homewares, garden furniture and other aged goods.
