Ebike Cornwall; Travel The County With Ease
With all Cornwall’s best bits being tucked into coves and at the end of narrow lanes, it can be an absolute nightmare to explore by car. Driving around, finding parking and passing somewhere you’d love to stop at but having to carry on due to queues of traffic behind you. I’ve been there, trust me I know the feeling! Welcome, Ebike Cornwall. This awesome business offers daily or weekly rental of electric bikes from hotels and stores around the county, meaning you can explore with ease and fit *almost* anywhere!
An epic idea – hey? I recently got to try out these Ebikes and I can genuinely recommend them to anyone visiting or local. I opted to collect mine from Budock Vean Hotel as along the Helford river is one of those places which is so stunningly beautiful but a nightmare to park. Collecting the bike was so simple and you don’t need to be staying at the hotel to book, just contact them before hand to book the collection. The bike comes with waterproof saddle bags for all your belongings, locks so you can park up and explore and the all important safety helmet.
From Budock Vean, we firstly headed down river to Port Navas. This is one of those aforementioned spots where you have to miss due to traffic – I’ve driven through twice before and really wanted to wander around but couldn’t – until today! The bikes make it so casual to ride up and down the hills around this area, with several different modes you can put as much, or as little, effort in as you wish. After Port Navas, we headed back up the hill to the opposite side of the hotel and explored the beach at The Ferryboat.
Rental of the bike means you have it all day, so head out and work up an appetite, stop somewhere for lunch and then meander back to drop them off. It’s a brilliant way to see the county and uncover some of those more hidden spots.
