Is This The Best View In Cornwall? Lunch Over The Water at Idle Rocks, St Mawes
Warm breeze swaying the umbrellas which dapple the midday sun, boats mimicking the motions of the gentle ripples, pots of lavender attracting the friendly bumble bee. All this without mentioning the tropical cocktails, ice cold pints, the intense flavours of the small plates of food. This is Idle Rocks, and wow, is it good!
Perched in the corner of one of Cornwalls most tropical bays, Idle Rocks is a hotel and restaurant boasting an all mighty view. With far reaching views so you can lay back and watch the boats as they leave the Roseland and head towards Falmouth, there’s so much to love about sitting here for the afternoon.
Whether choosing this spot as your base, popping in for a drink that resembles the sunset or opting for their food menu; it’s such a great way to celebrate an occasion, treat someone special or just embrace the best parts of the County. Throughout the summer, Idle Rocks swapped out their main menu and adapted it for the warmer months. Switching to lighter, smaller plates designed to share with loved ones and slowly enjoy whilst taking in your surroundings.
Idle Rocks is a true gem and one not to over look. Book end it with a swim in the warm waves of Summer Beach and ending with either a stroll up to St Mawes Castle or hop on the ferry over to Falmouth to continue your South Coast adventure.
