Mousehole Christmas Lights; 2021
Mousehole is one of my favourite places in Cornwall and it adds to its charm that it’s beautiful in Summer but absolutely comes alive in the Winter too. Mousehole have been doing their annual Christmas lights for a very long time (since 1963!) and it’s the most wholesome evening to spend some time wandering the streets and enjoying the displays.
Always worth heading in before the sunsets to make the most of the village in the light. All the cafes and shops stay open through the Winter to ensure you can pop in and support them in the off season.
The best cafe in Mousehole and one of my favourites in Cornwall, Rock Pool Cafe. This cosy spot is incredibly cute in the Winter, with their twinkling lights, festive corners and their to die for hot chocolate – get it, you will not regret it!
Not long after the sun has set, the lights start shining. It’s a very family friendly event so you can enjoy them after work and still be tucked up in bed before it’s too late!
The harbour houses the main display, showcasing their signature lights such as the mousehole cat, stargazy pie and the other festive inspired shapes. Be sure however, to take a wander through the narrow streets as they all come alive and are very heart warming.
A beautiful Winter tradition which will never get old. You can support the harbour lights here and be sure to pop some change in the donation buckets as they come around.
