Padstow Kitchen Garden; Fresh Farm Feasting
The new way of feasting; on a long table exposed to the elements. I love it! It’s become a popular way to host, serving up delicious fresh food, cooked in front of you whilst you dine around a long table, making conversation with whoever you may be sat next to. With one of the finest views going, Padstow Kitchen Garden is the brainchild of Ross Geach. Geach was previously a chef for Rick Stein and is the 7th generation working the land here on their family farm. Putting those two together and you get the miracle that is PKG.
Padstow Kitchen Garden is set above Padstow, with a fantastic view across the estuary. The farm is used to produce beautiful fresh produce and rear pigs. The produce is sold to fantastic restaurants, highlighting the quality of what is being done here.
Ross and his team host a series of events throughout the year. On this occasion, we were sat in their polytunnel surrounded by padron pepper plants – which we would soon be eating! The set up is rustic, authentic and brilliantly calming; the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and entertaining afternoon.
The food is served with a little explanation from the man himself, who goes into detail on the seasonal produce and the thought behind the menu. The quality and flavour of everything that was served was incredible; absolutely faultless. A brilliant way to spend the afternoon and I highly recommend heading to their website to check if there’s an event coming up soon!
