Room With A View; An Affordable Cornish Seaside Family Hotel
If you think a beautiful sea view, family and dog friendly and being affordable is too good to be true, let me introduce you to Esplanade Hotel! This lovely hotel is sister to the adult only, Fistral Beach Hotel & Spa. With this offering, it has the same decor and similar luxuries but with many child friendly extras and acceptable of your fur babies too! The Esplanade Hotel is based a stones throw back from Fistral beach, one of Cornwall’s best known and most popular beaches. They offer reserved parking for guests and house a beautiful restaurant, pool, jacuzzi, cinema room and an adults only cocktail bar.
The rooms here are very similar to those in Fistral Beach Hotel, just more compact. You have the same stunning view, comfortable large beds and supplied amenities in dressing gowns, slippers, hot drink facilities and the lovely Gaia wash set that they supply from their spa. The rooms range from standard doubles which have no sea view, sea view doubles, sea view doubles with balcony, family rooms and the Quiksilver and Roxy rooms which have bunkbeds.
The communal areas offer plenty of corners and open spaces for large families or to tuck yourself away and enjoy the view. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea and the lounge area is open to relax in all day. There’s a cocktail bar which has a cosy and mature darker decor with grand fire as a centrepiece. We enjoyed afternoon tea one late afternoon and it was lovely. Warm, fresh scones and a delicious array of mini desserts!
The breakfast includes a buffet with granola, cereal, pasties and a selection of juices and a hot breakfast which can be chosen off menu.
Within the hotel, they have a large indoor pool with jacuzzi, laundry facilities and a cinema room where you can enjoy their scheduled films or hire the whole space for your party. You can use the spa but this is based in Fistral Beach Hotel which is just a few yards down the road. With rooms ranging from £150 during off season and around £300 during high season; these prices are very good value in comparison to some seaside hotels and with a location which offers so much, I think that’s a great price!
