St Austell Brewery Pubs | Rising Sun in St Mawes
St Austell Brewery, a Cornish power house since 1851. From humble beginnings to what they are today, a proudly Cornish company serving up cold beers and hearty grub. Many St Austell Brewery pubs also have rooms to stay and one of their finest being the Rising Sun in St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula.
Moments from the waterfront for the perfect morning stroll or dip, the Rising Sun is a gorgeous pub with all the character and details to make it truly feel like home. Each room is individually styled and with details of worn leather, heritage panelling and an abundance of comforts providing a fantastic place to stay.
The team here have thought of every details from a free beer waiting in the fridge to a personalised dry robe. Whether you are able to use it to wander back to the hotel post swim or, like us, need it for shelter in the storm, this was such a nice touch. After watching the rain from the window and the crashing waves attacking the harbour wall, we couldn’t resist but go out for a quick walk and embrace the drama of it all.
The beer is perfect and the room is beautiful, so it was time to try the food! The menu offers traditional pub classics with a few seasonal twists and was really tasty. With a glass fronted dining space meaning you don’t need to miss the view, we tucked into our dinner and headed back again in the morning for a brilliant spread.
A wonderful place to stay, eat and drink. Book your stay at the Rising Sun, here.
