Wake Up To The Ocean; A Luxury Beach Hut Stay
The Tolcarne Village is one of my favourite places to stay. Based on a stunning beach in the heart of Newquay, the hotel has a colonial design throughout and it’s both unique and beautiful. Hidden touches ensure the theme continues from the moment you wander down the cliffside slope and only gets better when you step into their rooms. They have hotel rooms, apartments and beach huts. We were kindly invited down to try out the beach hut and when I tell you it was amazing, just scroll on and the photos will do the talking!
Tolcarne beach is in the centre of Newquay but you could be forgiven if you’d never heard of it. On the opposite side of town to the more celebrated Fistral Beach, Tolcarne is privately owned and accessed either via a steep cliffside slope or a lengthy set of stairs. The walk, whichever option you choose, is well worth it for this stunning beach and sunset spot.
The beach hut – how beautiful! I was in awe as soon as I walked in. Below the main hotel and restaurant, is this collection of adorable beach huts. Stepping straight out of your doors into the sand is the dream. Wood clad and in keeping with the colonial theme, the details in the room are wonderful and it comes with all the comforts you could need. The beach huts also have a private section below for chilling out on your sun lounger.
As mentioned, The Tolcarne Village features their own restaurant. You’ll find the Colonial Restaurant above the beach huts and straight ahead when you enter the beach. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week and most importantly, this incredible seafood BBQ on Sundays through the season. Enjoy a platter of BBQ’d seafood, a help yourself salad bar, live music, gentle rolling waves and amazing cocktails.
I have been lucky enough to stay at Tolcarne Beach Village before, read my post on their hotel rooms here.
