Where To Eat In Padstow; St Petroc’s Bistro by Rick Stein
Padstow is a foodie haven for those who love to indulge in fine feasting, fresh seafood and luxury cuisine. Being a hotspot for celebrity chefs, Padstow can be overwhelming when it comes to knowing where to eat. Tucked just up the hill, in a peaceful spot, is St Petroc’s Bistro by Rick Stein. The vibe is informal bistro, French cooking and calming interiors.
You can appreciate the French inspiration straight away; from the trailing flora, bamboo terrace furniture and umbrellas swaying in the breeze. The building itself is beautiful, and incredibly inviting. If you’re looking for a spot to stay, they do also have rooms.
The Bistro is open every day for lunch and dinner. They offer a set menu at a very reasonable price plus their menu which is a celebration of seafood in all shapes and sizes.
From fresh and light scallops to tuna steak, monkfish and a gorgeous whipped cheesecake; the food was amazing. You’d expect it to be good, given Rick Steins position as accredited chef, but it really was fantastic.
I can highly recommend St Petroc’s Bistro in Padstow for lunch or dinner. It’s a beautiful setting and even on the busiest of summer days, this little spot offers tranquility and calm. The set lunch menu is a great option for affordable dining whilst embracing the exquisitely designed dining space.
